Wash your face

Sometimes, make-up doesn’t just want to stay put. It doesn’t matter how expensive it is, after a day or errands, a night of lively dancing or any activity that involves sweat, you will find your make-up all over the place -- your mascara has ran, your eye shadow causing unnecessary dark circles, and your lipstick gone. Basically, you look like a hot mess. So Before applying moisturizer or primer, be sure your face is clean or freshly washed. This will eliminate the oiliness or dirt of the face that's causing the make-up to easily flake off.

Prep and Prime

This is not a secret. It’s practically common sense. Make sure to apply primer before you apply your make-up. A primer will ensure your make-up stays in place. Not only that, using a primer before applying your make-up will make foundation application easier, smoother and even. Even after a night of dancing and sweating like a pig, you will still look like a million bucks.

Use a wet brush

For those who don’t like to break the bank by investing in an eyelid primer, the next best thing to ensure that your eye make-up stays in place is to apply it with a wet brush. Dip your eye brush in clean water. Squeeze out excess water. You want your brush to be damp and not soaking wet. Dip your damp brush in your eye powder, apply to eyelids and blend away.

Powder away

Your trusty face powder is your ultimate tool in making make-up stay in place all night long. It doesn’t only set your foundation and concealer in place, you can also use powder to make your lipstick last longer. Apply lip color with a lip brush and pat lips with a tissue. Next, brush in a little powder over the lips. Apply second layer of lipstick and then kiss away.

Spray it in place

If all the above fails, then you need a setting spray. Don’t be intimidated by the spray can. It works like your favorite hairspray. After applying your make-up, spritz your face with setting spray and you’ll never ever have to worry about your make-up disappearing on you.

So ladies you see your makeup doesn't necessarily need to desert you neither do you need to be carrying a bulky makeup kit about like a makeup artist which seem to be the latest trend in town.
Two things we should bare in mind is
1) let your face breathe. You don't have to be carrying makeup on your face day and night. Sometimes show off your natural beauty.
2) less is more. You see some ladies' makeup and you begin to wonder if there's a masquerade contest in town. You don't need to carry an engagement makeup to your lectures or work place.
Just highlight a few catchy features to accentuate your prominent characteristics. For example a smokey eyes if you have lovely eyes or a high cheek blush if you have high cheekbones.
Till next week when I bring to you other life saving tips, I say stay classy stay chicy.
