Grey Vetiver Tom Ford for men

Grey Vetiver Tom Ford for men

Tom Ford Grey Vetiver is a new edition for men and it arrived on the market in September 2009. The perfume was announced as one with dominant vetiver accompanied with salty notes and sunny, woody accords. It features shiny citruses, spices, precious wood and vetiver. The fragrance is available in a light flacon shaped like Ford's previous masculine editions, in amount of 50 ml.

Main Accords: woody, citrus, aromatic, green and earthy.

Personal review: Extremely well crafted work by Tom Ford. You can tell a great deal of time and effort was exhausted into finding the right balance between the vetiver, citrus, woods and spices. Although this is an incredibly simple construction; the antithesis of the complexity and overkill of notes in the 1970's and 1980's; Grey Vetiver is still complex in its balance and attention to detail and finds a beautiful compromise that makes the vetiver seem very alive, young, vibrant, uplifting and fresh in a way I have yet to come across. Very versatile, holds up in spring, summer and fall and makes a great everyday wear or work fragrance for the more mature, sophisticated man who appreciates the art of simplicity and Tom Ford's nod to the classical, 18th and 19th century pyramid of citrus top, spicy mid and woodsy base. Longevity is reliable and steady at around 8 hours and sillage quite good to above average for a scent with so little flash or synthetics.
